Reading music basics
Learning to read traditional music notation, or sheet music, is certainly not required to play guitar and for most styles you will never need to. However, for certain genres such as classical guitar it is essential and it can help a lot with more modern styles such as jazz. Below covers some of the basics you need to know to translate sheet music onto your guitar.

Here is a useful mnemonic to help remember the notes on each line starting from the bottom one: Every Good Boy Deserves Fruit
To remember the spaces just use the word face - again from bottom space to top
