Songs

The lessons on this page mainly consist of songs by my favourite artists now and throughout the years, or simply ones that I feel have something interesting and worth learning in a guitar sense at some point in your guitar development.

Jeff Buckley - Lover, You Should've Come Over

My personal favourite Jeff Buckley song from sadly the only album he ever produced, this lesson looks at the brilliant array of chords used as well as the outro solo.

The Woman in You - Ben Harper

Lovely late 90s song by Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals. Great example of how to spice up a simple chord progression with Hendrix type fills and embellishments.

Galapogos - The Smashing Pumpkins

Incorporating lovely arpeggios, unique chord voicings and an intricate harmonized lead line, this song is well worth learning.

Black Star - Radiohead

One of many brilliant songs appearing on the classic album The Bends this song features a driving chord progression that is great fun to play and challenging in equal parts.

Time - Pink Floyd

One of Pink Floyd's greatest songs and one of David Gilmour's greatest solos. This lesson teaches you how to play both.

Lazy Sunday - Small Faces

Mod anthem not to be confused with Sunny Afternoon by the Kinks. This tutorial looks at the chords and how to replicate the dominant key melody using guitar triads.

For No One - The Beatles

Not the most famous Beatles song but this McCartney penned ballad is still well worth learning.

The Weight - The Band

Probably the most famous song from one of the all-time great bands. This lesson looks at the chord progression and intro lead.
